「Papurika(パプリカ)」英語バージョンの歌詞は？Foorin team Eの動画も公開に海外からも反応

2019年12月1日、シンガーソングライターの米津玄師の選考によって編成された「Foorin team E」が歌う英語版パプリカ「paprika」のMVが初公開されました。

「Paprika」は本日12月2日にデジタル配信が全世界でスタートした。また、この曲のCDが1月22日に国内でリリースされることが決定。初回限定盤と通常盤の2形態でのリリースで、初回限定盤は7inchの紙ジャケットにポスターサイズの歌詞カード、ミュージックビデオを収めたDVD、折り紙が同梱される。ジャケットイラストは「パプリカ」と同じく加藤隆が担当した。

国内で親しまれている「パプリカ」の歌が海外向けにどう英訳されたのか気になる声も。

今回は英語バージョンの「paprika」の歌詞、そして海外の反応についても調べてみました。

かかと弾ませこの指とまれ

歌詞は日本語のほぼ直訳通り。

直訳での作詞については「詩情がない」という意見もあるものの、「これなら子供でも歌いやすい」「英語苦手だけどなんとかわかる」という声もあり、賛否分かれる状況です。

Foorin team Eの動画も公開に海外からも反応

Youtubeに公開された動画では、海外から寄せられたコメントも見られます。

「とてもいい音楽。楽しい気持ちになれる」

「子供たちの歌やダンスがとても可愛い」

「子供の頃を思い出す様なノスタルジックな曲だね」

など。海外からの反応も上々の様です。

また「米津さんが英語で歌うことはないのだろうか」という声もあり、これには日本からも要望がありそうです。

また今回の「直訳ではなく」日本語版で知られる米津さんのもつ詩情ある歌詞を英語版で再現して欲しいという声も少なくなく、今後のカバーに期待も持たれます。
